Readme #10

This can wait until after Christmas. It seems bigger than it is because I merged the file_size branch into this one so I could write examples for all the functions in the readme. Nothing added into the file_size branch has been changed on this one, so no need to look through it all again after the other branch is merged. The main changes on this one are:
