I am not sure what you mean.. Are you talking about like this?
My point was that the UI is not telling the user what the button state is.
Take a look at the button with the "(On)" and "(Off)" labels removed:
Which one is on and which one is off? It's difficult to know.
Now look at this button from LabView: This UI is very clear about visually conveying which state is on and which state is off -- a label of "(On)" or "(Off)" would be unnecessary because you can tell the button state simply by looking at it.
So my point is: if you have to write labels that tell the user the button state then it's not an effective button. Not trying to make a big deal of it -- just that you may want to choose a different color scheme to better indicate which state is on and which is off.
I think if you have to write "(Off)" or "(On)" in a label then your UI cues aren't working :smile:
