I've got all of our existing trees loaded in to FoodParent running at https://www.concrete-jungle.org/FoodParent/

It's basically unusable with that many points on screen, so two suggestions:

Don't display all points on screen at once (let the user select which trees to display)
Add the leaflet marker cluster plugin
Remove marker label
