Thanks so much John. Do you have a rough estimate of when it will be complete?
Hey guys, please let me know if I can help out with this. I'm trying to put a COVID-19 model together for my county to help motivate and guide county-level decision making.
Awesome we're trying to do something similar using probabilistic programming tools. However we're not epidemiologists, so don't have the knowledge required to specify covid-like parameters. We're currently running simulations using the default settings (influenza in Jefferson County, as in Exercise 2), but would love to run realistic simulations of COVID-19.
Garrett are you making a COVID-19 param file for your county? Is that something you could make open source? It would help us out tremendously :)
We are also interested in using FRED to simulate COVID at the county level. I'm in the opposite situation--an epidemiologist without the current programming tools. Hoping that something on this thread will help us get there.
Anything folks can post will be helpful.
Thank you for your query about COVID19 modeling with FRED.
Right now all the resources of the FRED team are devoted to support for local and state health departments in PA. Unfortunately, we do not have the resources to assist other modeling efforts at this time.

Well, we are actually working for the Philadelphia Department of Public Health, which has been asked to estimate the infection growth rate out to 14 days.
If you happen to come up with an answer to that question, please let me know!
Be well,
Jessica
