Layer won't show up.

I'm trying to pull a map from our ArcGIS server but am getting the following 
error messages on the lines where I'm trying to pull the code:

1. Uncaught TypeError: Cannot call method 'appendChild' of null maps:1

2. Resource interpreted as Script but transferred with MIME type text/plain: 
"http://topwdengp001:8399/arcgis/rest/services/EngineeringGIS/D_BNSFRoute/MapSer
ver/3?f=json&callback=ags_jsonp.ags_jsonp0_863845".

I'm fairly new at this so any help would be appreciated.
