Check out the troubleshooting if you haven't already: https://github.com/Pugmatt/BedrockConnect/wiki/Troubleshooting#joining-the-featured-servers-still-directs-to-the-actual-servers-and-not-the-serverlist
Also investigating to see if something changed in 1.18, but since it's still working for others I'm thinking it's unrelated.
I haven’t tried the ipv6 thing but idk how it would of gotten turned on so I’ll have to figure out how to turn it off now
Since the new update 1.18.0 I haven’t been able to join server lists or anything it just takes me straight into a server like the ones minecraft gives you well I’ve different dns servers and I’m not sure if I explained this right at all but I think I did This has been going on since the update I’ve been trying to see if I could just fix it without doing this but could not so
I tried this and nothing works I think it just something about the new update
Just wanted to mention that I came across this issue today as well, the now only working solution for me was to just run the server myself on my laptop.
So actually I had fixed it for a little but now it doing it again and can’t seem to fix it it def not a ipv6 issue I think maybe since the new update
Dear friend, do you think that it will be fix it for Minecraft 1.18.10?? I have a friend trying conect to my server and he can't.
Thank you very much.

It appears as if they patched it unfortunately.
Edit: It appears the public one will not work. A privately ran one will!
If a private one won't work but a public one will, is this as simple as they've added the public server list from this project into a blocklist within the minecraft app?
I apprecaite changing the IP for one of the existing servers would be a breaking change for all users that have this setup and working, but would having a seconary IP assigned to one of the instances that's labelled as "volatile" and specifically for xbox users be an option, so once it gets blocked again it can be changed. It'll be an annoying game of cat and mouse, but a large number of users won't have the technical capability to run this themselves.
What may end up happening is Microsoft prevents it from working with private servers too, and hardcode it to work with a DNS server they control.
Here is an alternative IP to set your DNS to that will direct to the main default BedrockConnect servers: 173.199.115.154
Let me know if that works for anyone that is having trouble with the default IP.
Also curious if anyone here had tried alternatives from https://github.com/Pugmatt/BedrockConnect#publicly-available-bedrockconnect-instances like 173.82.100.84?
I've tried all the public instances and the one above, none worked. Minecraft just connects to featured servers like normal
