"You need to authenticate to Microsoft services" #316

What happened?

Everytime I try to join a server I get this popup mention (read title) before it kicks me back to the server list. This wouldn't be an issue except for the fact that I'm literally logged into a Microsoft account everytime I do try to join a server. Is this an issue with Bedrockconnect or the Minecraft servers as a whole?

Excepted Behaviour?

Actually joining servers

Steps to reproduce.

Are you getting this error when connecting to a server from BedrockConnect, or when trying to get onto BedrockConnect from the initial featured server list in the Minecraft main menu?

I’m seeing this same error when connecting from Bedrock Connect to a local Minecraft server.

I’m seeing this same error when connecting from Bedrock Connect to a local Minecraft server.

Once you join a server, the connection is completely off of BedrockConnect's, so the error would be thrown because of either an issue on the local server's end or with the Minecraft game's login session.

Found this page that has troubleshooting for both the Minecraft game client and server in order to possibly fix the error: https://www.thewindowsclub.com/you-need-to-authenticate-to-microsoft-services-minecraft-error

Thanks Matt, I’ll see if the problem is still occurring and trouble shoot from there.

fwiw, this happens a lot on Switch. My kid has turned it into a game, keeping track of the highest number of failed attempts before connecting. I think the current record is six.
