cannot connect to any external server, with any method on nintendo switch MC 1.19.21.01 [changing DNS or using BedrockConnect application]. #328

What happened?

I changed my primary and secondary DNS address in the possible combinations without having any successful result, including disabling the IPV6 on my router, after this, I tried to use the BedrockConnect application with a windows OS, I could make the link to the server from my android phone with BedrockConnect, but I could not do it from my nintendo switch. [I even restarted the console after the DNS settings thinking that might help ].

Expected Behaviour?

I don't know what could be happening, I have followed all the tutorials including the troubleshooting solutions.

having the same problem. tried it a few updates ago and wasn't working then either.

Have you tried setting the DNS directly into the router settings?

If nothing is working, then I'm not really sure what could be blocking or stopping the DNSs from working on your setup, something on your router or internet might be blocking the DNSs. If you happen to have a VPN enabled, that might be causing issues as well.

You can also try this project, although I'm not sure if it's fully ready yet. https://github.com/minerj101/FriendConnect You can set that up, and then set 104.238.130.180 for the server to join in order to connect to the BedrockConnect serverlist (Read project warning before attempting, it's still a bit untested territory from what I can see)

I’ve tried all of those things (except for that project) and none of them will work. 😞

This issue refers to an old version of Bedrock Connect and Minecraft Bedrock and has most likely been a time-constrained error. If this issue still persists @KAKNEGEMU @SniperJo2010, please say so within one week (until Jun 17th 2023), otherwise this issue will be closed.
