PS4 and BedrockConnect #33

Hello,

On PS4 the Servers tab only say: "coming soon". I guess this is global and not just me seeing this?

Pugmatt commented 4 years ago

Does this happen when the BedrockConnect DNS isn't set as well? Don't have too much experience with PS4. I've heard this issue with others as well, but I think its a PS4 bug.

This indeed happen without any DNS modifications.

Since launch, PS4's featured server list is disabled. The only way to access servers is by hosting a Nukkit or Pocketmine server on LAN and using the transfer command.

Thank you for the insight @SupremeMortal .

I'm going to be making a tutorial for PS4 soon, which will also work as an alternative method for Xbox.

The tutorial will essentially be this if anyone wants to try it out for themselves:

At this point the serverlist server should be running. Make sure this is also running on the same network as the Xbox. When in Minecraft, go to the "Friends" tab, and the server should be showing under LAN servers and available to join.

Sort of similiar to the tutorial I have on my YouTube for hosting BedrockConnect locally, just minus the DNS setup.

Just in case someone else runs into this. PS4 can connect to a local PocketMine-MP(available for free in the app store) server hosted by an android phone. This version of bedrock has the /connect minecraft command which will let you join any server you want. Annoying, but at least it works.
