IC2 and Thermal Expansion (TE) comparison
I guess the request here is to not have two different types and instead unify them. I can understand this as they are visually almost identical.
I prefer the look of IC2 basalt, though TE uses this for covers and has proper chiselling support.
Makes sense to just use TE basalt.
