Installation fails - security software detects virus and trojan #29

Open BlackBurnJim opened 1 week ago

BlackBurnJim commented 1 week ago

This used to work fine, but when I went to install the new version my security software blocked it (causing the install to fail) claiming that it was a threat (Trojan.GenericFCA.Agent.125705 as part of the Saucy v 1.4.03 'Saucy.dll' file to be specific).

I am leery about whitelisting anything that gets flagged as a virus or a trojan, and figured that you would want to know.

I still want to use your plugin, so I would love to help solve this.

Can you upload your DLL to VirusTotal and send the scan, please?

Also, what repo are you getting the plugin from?

BlackBurnJim commented 1 week ago

I'm using this repository (https://love.puni.sh/ment.json), and here is the link to the VirusTotal results: https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/d0a29c34e1da4b032818a3f03261ab1cadc598d762a30651c03a5af20ffcf237/details

Let me know what else you need, and thanks for the quick response!

I'm unsure what signature the plugin is appearing as. I'll poke around and see if anyone can fix.

You're going to have to whitelist XIVLauncher in your AV.
