If having issues with factory reset for troubleshooting connection errors for the AquaIlluminationI Prime 16HD Reef Model, follow these steps below:
Normal Operation:
Open myAI app on phone
Click the + symbol on top right
Select 'Nero / AI Light' from Add Device
Select 'Create New Tank'
Label the Tank Name, I use Test
Select 'Next'
Under Device Search, match the serial number found on the underside of the light on the black label to the device you select.
Press the serial number that matches your light and a small purple check mark will appear next to your selection
Press 'Next' in the top right corner, this will either bring you to a firmware update page where you will press update for each light that requires an update, or it will load to the next page and you can use the light again (caution: during firmware update, your lights may turn on, so make sure there is nothing the light is facing that could melt or it is facing sideways or up).
What to do if there are errors:
If your light is not showing up on the Device Search page and the AI on the topside of the light is solid green, this means it is connected to another tank and needs a factory reset.
Factory Reset Instructions (it is all about timing, so follow these directions exactly):
Find the factory reset button (grey) on the underside of the light, to the right of the serial number
Hold the factory reset button down as you unplug the device for 3-5 seconds (count aloud), then plug the light back in while still holding down the factory reset button
Look at the AI symbol on the top of the light as you do this while continuing to hold the factory reset button
Once you see the AI symbol start to flash red, immediately release the button
The AI symbol should now flash through purple, white, red, green, and blue
You should now be able to see the light on the myAI Device Search menu and follow the steps above
