move decalcified samples from formalin to ethanol in 2ml or smaller tubes and store in flammable cabinet

chloe-gilligan commented 5 months ago

@hputnam All Astrangia AP and AST samples have been moved to ethanol in 2 ml tubes. Three tube racks, 10 tubes total have all not been decalcified. 5 tubes are currently in ethanol but previously were in paraformaldehyde i believe for Katie Barott and Ben. 2 are from TP 8 in 2021 December. 3 tubes are from after the last time point from 2022 high frequency in September. We can either decalcify and process these or get rid of them.

Thank you @chloe-gilligan

Let's hold the TP8 and high frequency samples as is right now until we finish the Astrangia paper.

Please contact Katie and Ben to see if they need their samples. If they don't submit them for waste.

Can you please update the inventory to reflect this?

chloe-gilligan commented 5 months ago

Sounds good, email has been sent and will update when I hear back.

Katie said we can discard those samples

hputnam commented 4 months ago

@JillAshey please discard the Barott Lab samples as required by URI.

hputnam commented 4 months ago

@JillAshey can you please work with or ask Lauren to move all of the samples from the fridge by the fume hood to the flammable fridge or to Kelton's lab as needed?

hputnam commented 4 months ago

@chloe-gilligan can you please schedule a pickup for all of the solid waste in the satellite accumulation area in the back hood?

chloe-gilligan commented 4 months ago

@hputnam Yes will do today!

chloe-gilligan commented 4 months ago

Hazardous waste forms have been submitted and waste is ready for pick up.
