Summary of Changes

Radar [Replace] AN/APS-137(J) ISAR from AN/APS-115. I beleieve AN/APS-137(J) is equivalent to AN/APS-137C(V)5 which is a improved version of AN/APS-137B(V)5.

Loadout Japanese P-3C has better equipment at this time with newer sonobuoys.

so, for sonobuoys 40x J/HQS-13F(AN/SSQ-53F (Weapon ID 2496) equivalent) to replace J/HQS-12 20x J/HQS-33C(AN/SSQ-62D (Weapon ID 2481) equivalent) to replace J/HQS-33B 20x J/HQS-42B

Plus, Japanese P-3C has a capability of launching 4x AGM-84 in any era. 4x AGM-84 (Naval Strike Mission loadout) 4x ASM-1C (Naval Strike Mission loadout) 4x AGM-84 +8x Mk46 NEARTIP mod 5 + sonobuoys 4x ASM-1C +8x Mk46 NEARTIP mod 5 + sonobuoys 8x Type 97 + sonobuoys 8x Mk46 NEARTIP mod 5 + sonobuoys Maritime Surveillance 4x Type 67 Depth Charge (Armed Maritime Surveillance Mission loadout, I am not sure this one worth to add it, but there is) https://github.com/PygmalionOfCyprus/cmo-db-requests/issues/2605

Any info on the J/HQS-42B? What it's derived from, etc.

KC45jp commented 2 years ago

That is VLAD sonobuoy, SSQ-77B equivalent.

PygmalionOfCyprus commented 2 years ago

Okay, that's all added. When did these new sonobuoys enter service? I want to apply these or similar loadouts to the older Japanese P-3Cs as well.

KC45jp commented 2 years ago

It seems like hidden as the secrete compared to other units. Military loves to hide underwater weapons from OSINT for sure.

I can see there was a name of J/HQS-13F in the document for supply log of 2006, and that was the oldest I could reach (any documents before this may not online, I suspect). I cannot find HQS-13A to E, perhaps they were experimental model or hidden from online data. J/HQS-14 replace 13F in 2009, HQS-13G-1 replace -14 in 2010 and J/HQS-13H found from 2022.

HQS-33C DICASS can also found in the document of 2006 (same as above). HQS-33D entered service in 2009, and continue until now days.

Sources HQS-13F and HQS-33C use this "hqs" to search, because This document use 2byte alphabets. Year Heisei 18 = 2006. http://archive.dpj.or.jp/special/yobicyousa_h20/pdf/02/18_06.pdf

oldest supply log of HQS-13G-1 https://www.njss.info/offers/view/297116/

supply log of HQS-14 https://www.njss.info/offers/view/33434/

New supply log of HQS-13H https://www.njss.info/offers/view/20531568/

oldest supply log of HQS-33D https://www.njss.info/offers/view/276756/

I found that HQS-42B VLAD sonobuoys only found from 2007. Same as other sonobuoys, no online data before that. If we can rely on blog level data, HQS-42 can found in the book (magazine) published in 1987, thus HQS-42"B" could be in service in late 1990's.
HQS-42B replaced by HQS-43 in 2009. HQS-43 is called advanced DIFAR, I believe SSQ-77C equivalent.

BTW, Is that easier for us to make new request page? There are some other sonobuoys for P-1/multistatic operation. (I know multistatic sonars are not able to simulate in Command now but we can add them as placeholder for future)

KC45jp commented 2 years ago

I found that Japan had DIFAR called HQS-11, HQS-12, HQS-13. I suspect HQS-11 (which is not confirmed by reliable sources) is for P-2J DIFAR capability HQS-12 is for Orion Update 2 while it begin service in 1982 (same as Japanese P-3C begin service). HQS-13 is for Orion Update 3.

HQS-13F, G-1, H is confirmed by reliable source and looks like they have compatibility each other. And HQS-13D was found in private website.

That is everything I have for now.

Mine Laying loadout

Mk55/52 Naval Mine procurement record https://www.njss.info/offers/view/21852344/ Loadout 12573 and 12574

Mk36 Naval Mine (Weapon ID 2096) procurement record https://www.njss.info/offers/view/2041166/ Same bomb weight as Mk62 QuickStrike (500lb, Loadout ID 12575) so we could use it as reference.

Mk64 Naval Mine (Weapon ID 2087) procurement record https://www.njss.info/offers/view/7677795/ Same bomb weight as Mk65 (2000lb, Loadout ID 12576) so we could use it as reference.

Type 91 Naval Mine Requested in https://github.com/PygmalionOfCyprus/cmo-db-requests/issues/1884 It has similar capability as Mk 60 Captor mine so it should be similar loadout...
