This is not the HERMES missile which is designed by a different design bureau. Recent indication that this has been used in UKRAINE from Mi-28NM. Possible that the domestic version longer ranged than advertised as some sources credit 25km with lock on after launch datalink, but also some comments that training crews to use it at this longer range has been difficult. It is relatively slow at 250mps. Cruise altitude 100 to 600m, lofted trajectory? Configuration similar to weapon referred to as Baikal in a ground launched variant. This is not the HERMES missile which is designed by a different design bureau. First use potentially in 2016 by FSB Mi-8 special operations helicopter with two single rail launchers. APU-305 launchers in single and twin rail configuration for use on KA-52 and Mi-28NM. Maximum load appears 4 missiles per helicopter . Touted to also arm SU-25SM3 which due to higher launch speed would probably achieve the 25km range. Three launch modes equate to: LOBL using launch platforms sensors. LOAL using data from launch platform to aim for target area. LOAL mid course corrected via datalink, video appears to show lofted or high altitude launch trajectory. From translated source: "Product-305E" can be used in three modes. In the first case, the missile under the wing of the helicopter itself captures the target and operates on the principle of "fire and forget" without the participation of the crew.

In the second case, the pilot uses the sighting system of the helicopter, with the help of which he transmits the coordinates to the rocket. After that, it starts and flies in inertial mode, and at the second stage it captures the target according to the standard introduced into it.

In the third option, the helicopter is far from the target and cannot detect it itself. The rocket is launched at approximate coordinates. She again flies in inertial mode, but a few kilometers before the target begins to transmit on board the image taken by the homing head. The navigator, based on what he saw, indicates the target to the rocket, and it brings the matter to the end." https://t.me/anna_news/35747

https://t.me/anna_news/35747 More alleged 305 use. Long range Precision in hitting someone's flat? Also appears launched at high altitude, airframe launching it appears KA-52 from cockpit frame in launch video.

This is definitely in use on operational aircraft in Ukraine.

Training on Mi-8AMTsh. X-39 now seems "common knowledge".

https://x.com/simpatico771/status/1813298079334105182 Both the Mi-28NM and LMUR would be very nice additions.

Even Airforces August 2024 page 39 is referencing LMUR as the X-39. "The Unscripted Conflict" Vladimir Trendafovski.
