It is the enchanted version of the last two FREMMs under construction, practically a GP version with ASW capability, adding the Thales 4249 suite (CAPTAS 4) and the multifunction passive towed array (MFTA) for the detection of both submarines and torpedoes, in addition to the two anti-torpedo decoy launchers, used on the FREMM ASWs. The EMPAR radar has been replaced with the new 3D Leonardo Kronos Grand Naval, the 2D Leonardo SPS-732 air and surface surveillance radar and the STANAG 4193 Edition 3 compliant IFF SIR-M-CA conformal array interrogator system, together with the Leonardo SASS (Silent Acquisition & Surveillance System) IRST system.
