Ship #. Ships of US Navy, Coastguard, MSC from early 1970 onwards, all NATO ships and refuelling vessels.

Summary of Changes

Standardise the fuel used in US Navy ships including that stored in refueling ships to F-76 Diesel. This is standard across most NATO countries now as well. Currently if you want to do a NATO scenario you need US tankers to fill US ships as they are down as Gas Fuel and not Diesel. The change came in early 1970.

"F-76 diesel fuel, which fires the diesel engines, gas turbines, and boilers aboard Navy ships, is formulated to remain stable and usable for years." [1]

"Adrian Jackson, Chief Executive at the Oil and Pipelines Agency who manage the Naval Oil Fuel Depots, added: “The Campbeltown and Loch Striven Oil Fuel Depots are thrilled to have American fuel once again and both depots will be storing F-76 and F-44 for the US." [5]

"This fuel has been standardized with the NATO allies as NATO F-76. It is used for powering all nonnuclear ships, with JP-5 considered to be an acceptable alternative." [2]

I might add, i'm willing to go through all NATO sides in DB3K and make a complete list if it will be helpful.
