Ah I left this on pyright strict, I'll fix that and enable basic with some finer settings.

I'd be interested in continuing the work on this, if that's still allowed? If so, Google + StackOverflow show some ways of "continuing" someone else's PR, but is there a particular method you'd prefer that I attempt? @AbstractUmbra

Oh yeah. It seems @EvieePy has already done this in the latest feature branch and it is no longer needed.
