due conversation with audax: currently its doin each 3 secs 1 notification per contact. But it should go further and all messages within this timeframe should only make 1 notification

ftr.: even though it's maybe executed in the tests, the actual "combine messages" logic is untested

The build fails because it cannot compile the guiTest code. That's broken in the master, too.
