Qalculate does not change the theme by default (but a different theme, from a limited selection, can be set in in preferences, if compiled against GTK >= 3.16, thus excluding the "self-contained" binaries). Depending on the package used (e.g. Flatpak or Snap) the theme set as default by the user might however not be available to the application (if the Flatpak version is used, this can however possibly be solved by installing a Flatpak version of the theme).
I see else where in the issues that you are suppose to match the GTK theme. I have it set to MATEblack but qalculate has a white background with black text. The theme for all other application has black background with white text. This seems like a bug that should be fixed.
Suggestion: Provide a interface to change theme like other applications do or a way to edit qalculate files that generate the colors used in the interface.
