gives error in new blender when importing smd #57

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.file - import - source engine
2.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
should import character but gives a bug (fix given at bottom)

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
using blender 2.64 and smd_1.5.2

Please provide any additional information below.
Had to replace the "mergedist" (there are two in the code) with 
"threshold"...worked fine after that. no errors at least.

2.64a still uses mergedist, I assume you are running your own SVN build?

I'll mark this is invalid for now, but thanks for the heads-up that the API is 
going to change.
