This extension looks exactly like what I was looking for! However, with the newest Fedora version, I am already on shell version 46. Are there plans to upgrade to 46, or am I better off downgrading to 45 in the meantime?

Unfortunately, I am pretty busy at the moment (hence needing this tool to continue working with my broken wrist), but I will be happy to help, should there be no resources for the next months.

Hi @baumkuchen42 . Have been very busy myself but a version compatible with Gnome Shell ver.46 is being planned. In the meanwhile, I would suggest strongly to look at my more universal BlahST app Blah Speech to Text which does everything that blurt does without being tied to the version of the GNOME shell. It will also save you a few CPU /GPU cycles as it is a leaner tool.

Cheers and I am glad that you find this useful.
