The User items and Multireddits section are not shown in the sidebar, even if you have those sections enabled in settings. Only the shortcuts section and the subscribed subreddits are displayed.
OnePlus Pad tablet, Android 14.
I had 1.24 from fdroid installed. I downloaded 1.24.1 from github, exported my 1.24 settings, uninstalled 1.24, installed 1.24.1 from the github apk, and restored my settings from the export. My settings were restored correctly, including the account I was logged in as, but the sidebar is not behaving properly as described above.
I cleared the cache and force-stop and restarted the app, and the sidebar is still not behaving properly.
I then force-stopped the app, deleted data and cache, restarted the app, restored settings, same bug.
I then uninstalled the app, reinstalled 1.24.1 apk, restored settings, same bug.
However
I then force stopped, cleared data and cache, uninstalled, reinstalled the 1.24.1 apk, started app, did not restore, logged in to my reddit account. My subreddits loaded as expected and the UI looked like the normal default UI, with shortcuts, user items, release announcement, etc in the sidebar. I then restored the same backup, which restored my settings, and now the sidebar is behaving normally.
I repeated that whole sequence again and the obtained the same results.
So both the bug and the workaround are reproducible.
