No way to enter ctrl #267

There doesn't appear to be a way to use the ctrl key, apart from ctrl-c which
is in the gestures menu. This is particularly a problem for me if I ssh to a
machine using screen or tmux, since managing the session involves lots of
ctrl-a, ctrl-b, etc. I'm using r520.

Have your read the wiki pages yet? The bullet key (big black dot on special
char page) is used for ctrl

Ah, sorry about that. I did glance at it, but when it said you could enter
ctrl with a down-right swipe (which worked with the old version but not now) I
didn't read further.

Read carfully, I said it "should" work like that

Hmm, on second thought: that doesn't work in the shortcuts menu. I can enter
bullet-b as a shortcut, but when I use it a literal bullet it transmitted.

Shortcuts need to be treaten in a special way, but you need to ask allen.porter
how exactly.
If you wish to use it normally, then use bullet-(char)

None of the above seems to work. By bullet key do you mean the period sign? (.)
coz that's the only round thing i see no "big black circle"

Ment ist the • sign
It's on the same page as *, [, ], ¥ and =

I only see the period (.) sign, no big black dot on my keyboard unfortunately.
Tried both the English and German keyboards.

I'm on iOS 4.3.3(8J2)

Could you please take a screenshot of your keyboard where you see the = sign?

On my keyboard, you need to hold down the dash key (-), then you can select the
bullet character (•). Hope this helps others. Can't wait for keyboard
recognition of ESC and CTRL...

@jbpe...@gmail.com
In the English keyboard, press the 123 key at the bottom, then the #+= key that
appears above it. The • symbol is at the very end of the second row, just
above the backspace key.

I have the Ctrl key working with bullet from the keyboard, but being able to
program it in to a shortcut would be a big plus. Can someone (allen.porter)
post information about this? Thanks in advance!

@jbpe...@gmail.com you are a lifesaver buddy!! I've spent the better part of a
day trying to figure out how to get the ctrl command thanks to you found the
elusive • finally.
@Addydmasi I don't know what the diff is but we don't have the dot at the end
of the row you mentioned.

Being able to program it into a shortcut would indeed be awesome. Allen.porter
.... Any help would be appreciated! :)
