Oct-Dec Q1, Jan-Mar Q2, etc.

Ideally before Apple reports its Q4 [ends Sept 30] in mid-October.

Should we just have an advanced option for specifying fin year dates?

I'm thinking we just change the way quarterly date functions work:

pick quarterly > pick month to start FY
