We discussed this with @irgolic. He recommends adding a minimal control area with buttons that change mouse behaviour (like selection, similar to the ones in a Scatterplot) and an autocommit settings.

Perhaps this Control area could go to the top of the widget. Here we need to be careful, because this would minimum X size.

I think if we add a control area we should make the widget look similar to Scatterplot in its layout, meaning that the controls are on the left and the graph is on the right. It would be also "conforming" with Hyperspectra.

In this case, we could remove some of the Menu items or even get rid of it altogether. I think from a simple and clean UI perspective we shouldn't have two control areas.
