Ghost Notes

WARNING - This idea is not something usual in mania games, and if the dev team wants this game to be a mania game that's just better than the others, I can respect that. But, I figured since you have stuff like negative SVs (and also I think this idea is really cool) so I'm still gonna post it here.

Ghost notes will look like regular notes but semi transparent (transparency level can be configured in the skin.ini) or look entirely different (depending on the skin), and they only affect the score half as much as regular notes. The cool thing about them is they activate if the lane is pressed and not when it is. That also means you can only hit them or not hit them (no judgements). They will work a lot like the yellow notes in Phigros.

This could be useful for charters in a lot of scenarios. Here are some examples:

• Can be placed on top of regular notes to make them more impactful, as an easier alternative to short LNs.
• Can be used to chart parts of the song that are either way too difficult, like really long and dense longjack, too insignificant for regular notes, like echoes, or replace grace when its not that fitting.
• Can foreshadow patterns for SV maps.
• Can make for cooler and more creative charts, especially for easier difficulties.

If this idea actually gets implemented, here is how I think it should work: The input should be registered as long as the button is pressed within the "GOOD" judgement window, even if it was pressed before the time. They only affect the score and difficulty half as much as regular notes, but it stays the same with jacks, as long as you don't have to stop pressing the key. These notes will look the same in the file but with a G tag next to them (G is for ghost in case it wasn't that obvious). Maps that only use ghost notes won't be able to get ranked. Old maps will not be affected by this change.

I thought of another cool idea - ghost note LN will work like normal LNs but with no releas window, kinda like in stepmania.

ok but mines were actually considered to be added to Quaver (there was a dedicated button for mines in the editor in some early builds) but it all got scrapped for good and totally won't be reconsidered. i personally find mines annoying but if you like this kind of stuff i'd recommend Etterna.
