Qubes OS release

Qubes R4.1

Brief summary

sys-gui-gpu cannot display windows 7 - qga-enabled qube.

Steps to reproduce

setup sys-gui-gpu qube setup windows 7 qube try to run windows qube inside sys-gui-gpu desktop environment

Expected behavior

windows 7 applications launch normally in the new desktop environment.

Actual behavior

windows 7 launches applications without GUI.

Yes, this features is not implemented in windows gui agent. I think we had an issue for tracking this already, but can't find it now, @andrewdavidwong ?

That doesn't ring a bell.

Could it be #4886?

This was the closest I could find through searching.

No, that one is about R4.0, while sys-gui is specific to R4.1. Ok, lets keep "sys-gui support in QWT" tracked here (technically this is "grant tables based framebuffer sharing").

@marmarek So another option is to use virtio-GPU for Windows. This would provide GPU acceleration to Windows applications and so is to be preferred, but native context support is required.
