Currently there's a few questions lingering over this:

[ ] #2 What about IE8?
[ ] #3 Would it actually be faster to sidestep the native browser methods?
- [ ] If so, is this the case for all methods, or just some?
[ ] #4 Are there any methods we need that I didn't include?
[ ] #5 Are there any methods we don't need that I did include?

Either way, I'm happy to call this "stable", at least as far as the tests all pass, and it is "working", so will merge.

I'm going to raise the above as issues.
