QuickBox / QB

QuickBox is much more than a ‘seedbox installer script’, it is a simplistic approach to achieving easy seedbox and services management from a beautifully designed dashboard. Allowing users the ability to interact with their seedbox and server on a professional grade level.

Dashboard controls don't work anymore #156

Closed LWSRep closed 5 years ago

None of the controls work anymore in the dashboard. When i run the updater from the dashboard the popup opens but nothing happens. when leaving it open and running ssh the command box upgrade i see the results in the dashboard popup.

other functions like clearing memory cache or installing something or stopping or restarting a service also do not work anymore. i tried everything from updates to fix home and whatever i could think off.

help really appreciated

What version are you on?

I think I am currently helping you on our Discord? Possibly issues with Webmin being installed over QuickBox?

ufo56 commented 5 years ago

Same thing. Did a fresh install, exactly same.

batedk commented 5 years ago

If Webmin is installed over QB, you will experience trouble with the Dashboard as they conflict.

ufo56 commented 5 years ago

No webmin installation on that machine

@ufo56 could you tell me what/who the host/provider is that you get your server from? Is it dedicated server or VPS? I am beginning to suspect it might be happening only to servers from a particular provider/datacenter as for now from the almost 400 servers we run quickbox on, it happens only to servers from the provider i have in mind.

@ufo56 ah okay, well i guess that wasn't the reason then because that is not the same provider. Thanks for sharing the info.

Guess i will have to find another solution and have a talk with JMSolo then.

However, if you just did a fresh install of quickbox i recommend doing a fresh install again. On OVH/SYS servers that did fix the issue but you need to make sure you are not using the OVH kernel and after the OS install first add a new sources list to ubuntu and do an update and upgrade of the OS before installing quickbox. For some reason sometimes the default ovh sources cause issues with quickbox (also other software so not just related to quickbox) I cannot guarantee that helps but for us it does help and we always use non ovh sources. You can create a new sources list here: https://repogen.simplylinux.ch/index.php Or use the same list that we do: https://repogen.simplylinux.ch/txt/xenial/sources_96a69be7da33f531a4a2e0fbc21292d4de251699.txt

after you replaced the default ovh sources list with the new one do an apt-get update and apt-get upgrade and then install quickbox.

hope it helps
