Why does this run 3x slower on VM? #3

@timsaxe What are you using for a VM? When using VMWare player, The USB-serial device does not enumerate on windows (Device desriptor fails to load)

USB serial has an uneasy relationship with various systems. Works fine on Windows and native Ubuntu18. Worked fine for me on a fresh Ubuntu20, but some people have to run an extra step. Works on WSL + Ubuntu 18. I have not tried VMWare player. Did try VirtualBox – I was not successful but other people were.
