Compatibility with Self Destructing Cookies and Extension Options Menu add-ons #52

Hi

I love The Puzzle Piece more than any other extension of this type but on my system it seems to create a problem with two other extensions: a) Extension Options Menu – left mouse click won’t work (unless right mouse click is used first) b) Self Destructing Cookies needs to be disabled and enabled to get it working (I see now someone else has the same issue with SDC).

Both extensions work with The Add-On Bar (Restored) but I would rather use Puzzle Piece!

I wonder if you can simulate / diagnose this?

Could you please try the latest beta version 1.4b5 at https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/the-puzzle-piece/versions/ and see if that helps? Let me know if it doesn't.

I tried 1.4b5 but unfortunately both issues persist ...

Both issues remain with 2b1.

SDC: see my latest post in #48

EOM: That's actually a problem with EOM's initialization. I've already contacted its developer (http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?uid=2011445&f=48&t=2141579&start=675), and suggested a fix for it. Hopefully he'll be able to implement it in a future version of his add-on. Keep an eye out in that topic, and if he isn't able to do it for some reason I'll see what I can do from my side.

Thanks Luis for alerting the EOM developer.

Re SDC: Like symj elsewhere on this forum, I had problems adding icons to Puzzle Toolbars 2b5. I did not have this problem in 2b1. I use (bottom right) corner toolbar. If I only tick this option there is no toolbar to add icons in customize mode. If I tick bottom (and lateral) as well the toolbar space appears. I add icons but on exiting customize the icons are not there ... maybe I am doing something wrong? Was therefore not able to test dev version of SDC.

Could you try the suggestion I left in #48? Restart firefox after updating, and if that doesn't work try disabling all your other add-ons except for Puzzle Toolbars. Everything works fine for me, and it's very weird that the toolbars appear but you can't move icons to them.

Also, EOM's developer released a new beta version 2.10beta2 which fixes this issue for me. You can find it at the top of https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/extension-options-menu/versions/. Please also give it a try and let me know if that doesn't work for you.

Hi Luis

I must have done something wrong last time. I could add icons into corner toolbar without restarting FF. And all is working fine with 2b8 and latest versions of SDC and EOM.

Sometimes the add-on fails to fully update, I still haven't figured out why, but when this happens it will usually work when you restart firefox or just re-install it.

But I'm glad everything's working fine now, let me know if you run into any other issues.
