v2.0 cant get things into url bar #61

i cant customize icons into the url bar.

when it auto updated to 2.0 all my icons got dumped out of my url bar.

i moved it to top bar to try to get it to url bar but i cant :(

It should be accessible in customize mode. Is it not? (BTW, if you're using The Fox, Only Better, update it to the latest version 1.1.6 at https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/the-fox-only-better/versions/, that might actually help with this!)

Hey man, no I'm not using TFOB.

It's not accessible in customize mode :(

Does its box appear there and it just won't let you drag anything in there, or does it not appear there at all?

No appear at all :(

You want to connect to my computer i have TeamViewer

Actually in my main profile it's not appearing either... I don't know how I missed that...

Well I know how I missed that, I don't use the location bar puzzle bar in my main profile so it was always disabled. :) I'll try to fix this still today and upload a beta later for you to try, I'm sorry it took me so long to reply btw, busy week.

You must be using another one of my add-ons, OmniSidebar, FindBar Tweak, Omnibar Plus?

That's weird, I could only reproduce this with one of my other add-ons enabled at the same time. But hopefully the latest beta version 2.0.1b1 at https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/puzzle-toolbars/versions/ should fix this. Please give it a try and let me know.

Hey man I just installed that beta and it didnt fix it. This is how my customize page looks: no-url-bar-dropping-puzzle-tolbars

I assume the location bar puzzle bar is enabled of course. I don't see any other toolbar in there, just to confirm is that the only one enabled?

Oh wait there's the top toolbar in there, I nearly missed it.

Could you try disabling all your other add-ons and see if it will show up then? If it does, you're going to need to figure out exactly which add-on is causing the conflict.

That and the top toolbar is enabled, because i have to use that temporarily while i cant get it into the url bar.

Let me know if you would like to connect via teamviewer I love this addon and want it bak :(

Try and find out if it's another add-on causing some sort of conflict. If you can't then we'll try that.

Hey man I tried deactivating everything else. Even with just this addon active and restarted, it still wont allow me :(

I wonder if this could be a windows 8-specific thing. I'll try it in mine later (I'm currently on 7) to check.

btw thanks a lot man for your help with this. i love your addons animations. and having stuff in the url bar is just so awesome.

No problem, I'm glad you like it. :) Btw, I just remembered, you could try to right-click the buttons and hit the "Add/Move to Location Bar Puzzle Bar" option, it should (keyword being should) work even if it doesn't appear in customize mode. At least you'd be able to use it until I fix this.

its already checked. so i tried unchecking then checking it but it wont go :(

No, the options above that. The checks are for toolbar visibility only (as in open/closed); the "Move to..." are for moving icons themselves over to the toolbars.

the location bar is showing in customize now! and my god its pretty!!! much better then previous version!

love the drop shadow!!

I wonder why it's appearing now... As a test, could you try removing all the icons from it and restarting firefox, and see if the location bar is still there? (customize mode also lets you right click the items to send them to a toolbar, so you can customize them back easily even if the location bar doesn't appear afterwards)

I tried in windows 8 and it always appears for me. Could you try very quickly what i asked in my previous comment? If it still appears then, then it was probably some sort of issue caused when updating.

Whoops didn't see you told me to try something. All icons from status bar? Then try restarting?

I meant remove the actual status bar and the other buttons as well, empty out the location bar toolbar, then restart firefox to see if the location bar toolbar appears in customize mode. You mentioned that it started appearing after you moved buttons there (through the right-click menu), so I was wondering if the opposite will happen: if when removing everything from it, it won't appear there anymore.

Nearly forgot about the hello icon. Beta version 2.0.1b4 should show it correctly (https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/puzzle-toolbars/versions/).
