Visiting GridFrontend/install.php fails at the end on windows: 'user_data' can't have a default value #71

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Complete the Grid/install.php installation process
2. Run through the GridFrontend/install.php to the end
3. See the message: 
Problem loading schema - BLOB/TEXT column 'user_data' can't have a default value

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Clicking restart on this final screen produces the message 'Complete'

In spite of the observations noted in the preceeding comment, it would appear 
that all installation operations did not in fact, complete sucessfully; upon 
visiting /GridFrontend/, I get a page with the following error message:

A Database Error Occurred
Error Number: 1146

Table 'simiangrid.sgf_sessions' doesn't exist

INSERT INTO `sgf_sessions` (`session_id`, `ip_address`, `user_agent`, 
`last_activity`) VALUES ('213084563d58409aa52a53371f3663e9', '69.151.152.171', 
'Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US) Ap', 1284684320)
