In the Uncategorized Fractal, there are two variants of a skip after Old Tom dies. One of those variants is standing in a specific spot, leaping to a hard-to-reach spot, and walking up at an angle to "complete" said skip.
I'm unsure whether a third marker is necessary to show players where to leap; on one hand I don't want to babysit players too much with skips (perhaps i'm too knee deep in fractal skips I've marked to say that) and allow players to figure it out themselves with their own methods on how to do it, but on the other hand it's easy to remove all that uncertainty by putting a marker so you know where to aim a leap.
