Yeah if Flatpak works, that would be perfect, cause even though it doesn't do LFX etc it is both easier to install and almost certainly has a larger userbase than Distrobox, which is the current workaround. (Flatpak has 7% of Linux on Steam hardware survey)
I've managed to get it running on my Ubuntu install. I just ran through the standard install guide for Steam.
I have attached a screenshot showing proof.
re-tested on Ubuntu LTS and it does not appear Distro specific
Following the wiki instructions, I could launch Titanfall vanilla using Proton 6.3-8
, but cannot run Northstar: a black EA window appeared minutes after clicking the "play" Steam button, and nothing since then.
[EDIT] I could launch Northstar putting -northstar
as launch argument in Steam settings (and not %command% -northstar
) :>
While vanilla Titanfall2 works ootb, apparently Northstar does not, even when using NorthstarProton.
The reason is not clear at the moment and any input on this is appreciated.
Note that this is about Ubuntu/Debian and derivatives specifically. For general Linux support see
