Korean Galaxy S Latest Market Update Partially Incompatable #113

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Open MarketEnabler
2.Fake anything
3.Open Market

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Before I got pushed the latest market update the Games tab would show all games
if faking a US carrier (T-Mobile or Verizon). After latest update market is
still Korean (Korean apps show up at the top, Games tab is empty). I can
however search for games and install them, or use another market app such as
AppBrain to browse by category.

What version of the product are you using? On what ROM?
MarketEnabler 1012121, standard (Korean/SKT) 2.1.1, Latest Korean(SKT) version
of Market.

Please provide any additional information below.
Still works if searching for an app by name, or using AppBrain to search by
category/filter. Market can still download and update when faked.

If you are not aware, Google agreed to block ALL games on Market for Korean
carriers due to those games having not passed the Korean game rating system
(IE, so we're forced to use the Korean T Store market and buy games from Korean
only publishers).

Just ran a quick test, if I fake another carrier and then clear the Market
cache (through settings, manage applications) and then open Market I can see
the US market and the games tab is fully populated, as expected. Of course,
when switching back to the Korean app market I have to again clear the cache.
As stated above, this was NOT needed before the pushed update to market.

Can now make this a feature request instead of an issue, as I see two "easy"
solutions:

1. MarketEnabler always clears the Market cache when faking a carrier.
2. MarketEnabler prompts you to clear cache after fake (and restore) is
complete (if you say yes it should do it automatically, or take you straight to
the correct settings page so it's one click).

Could also make it a setting to do 1 or 2 automatically.

Thankss, great app!
