Are you sure that your US VPN connection is used for the stream?
Did you do a VPN with a TUN device and tunneled all traffic trough this device?

If somehow not all requests involved in the streaming will be tunneled trough
the VPN (which includes the video stream itself) then it detects the
destination country.

yes, I tried droidvpn(set to a usa server) and checked using tun.ko installer
if the tun module was loaded.

Also the logfiles state connected via tun0.

So all data should be redirected through the vpn then correct?

furthermore i also tried using a normal pptp vpn which also didnt work (but I
expected that)

also tried openvpn since that should also use a tun connection which
unfortunatly also didnt work

I have exactly the same problem, with the following setup:
- i have a us VPN and the stream uses the VPN for sure since the vpn is
established by the router and not the android device.
- I actually bought a movie successfully, but experience the same "not
available in your country" error when starting to watch or to download.

My device is a ASUS Transformer Infinity TF700T bought in Germany.

Is there another way, like where you bought your device that stops from
downloading?
