The import would ask for the same password as if you had opened it in version
2.x. But once imported, the password would then be as version 3.0. It doesn't
change the v2 file, just reads and copies.
Can you still open it with the original password in v2?

The problem is im on a new computer and it says, the account was encrypted with
a different computer account.
Is there any way to get the authenticator working?

That means your authenticator is also encrypted with Windows encryption, which
locks it to the machine or account, so it is unreadable on another machine.
If you have access the old machine, you need to use it and open winauth and
your authenticator and right-click to "save..." and tick just the password
setting, so that you can copy the new file to your other machine.
If you don't have the access to the old machine, use the restore code and
serial number to recreate your authenticator in either version of winauth.
