How to put proteins on a template? #1

Hi,

I am trying to use this plugin and I have a set of proteins annotated with subcellular localization. How do I arrange them in the network, I cannot find any buttons doing that.

How does a template look like? Unfortunately, there were none in the Boundaries panel after installation.

Thank you!

Hi Julia, You would use annotations to build the template. Start by creating an empty network, then you can "draw" your cell using the annotations. Make sure to name the annotation to correspond to the subcellular location -- for example, you could draw an oval and label it "Nucleus". Then save that network as a template. You should then be able to apply the template to an existing network and use it for the layout.
