I joined Parexel from the NHS in England where I held numerous roles in project management and analytics. R is fairly widespread in the NHS and I am very comfortable in using R. I now work as a health economic modeller, mainly in excel, but I am keen to promote the use of R in my team and the industry.

I have worked as a programmer in Biostatistics at Novo Nordisk for eight years, the last three in our Biostat HTA department.

Over the last couple of years I have been one of the drivers of developing a tool in R for automating statistical analysis such as those required for AMNOG. We open-sourced our working version earlier this year, but in hindsight it would have been beneficial to start collaborations earlier to ensure a broad scope. I hope the HTA-WG initiative can help build early and targeted collaborations to ensure we develop the best possible tools.
