Roadmap to being merged to base package #410

Hi, I saw that the goal of S7 is to be merged into the base build. I wonder if there is a roadmap or some criteria? For example, an estimate of months/years, or certain features, or certain versions.

I want to migrate my packages from R6 to S7, but is unsure if this is a good time. (It's not a push. Good stuff takes time to polish)

There is no roadmap currently. OTOH, there has been some support already in base R for S7 in the past, which I think is more than for R6. Personally, I think it is a good time to start migrating now. If there would appear obstacles, now you'd be sure to get quite a bit of support from here..
