wrong historical CFS being downloaded #1

We want the 9-month time series from http://nomads.ncdc.noaa.gov/modeldata/cmd_ts_9mon/

The data under cmd_ts_9mon has a 5-day interval, so it is not possible to get data that starts on the first day of each month. Instead we would have to calculate what date in the 5-day sequence follows or is closest to the first of each month. Is this going to be useful?
