Mock-ups for palaeopathology module #16

These are the mock-ups for the palaeopathology data entry forms that I presented on the meeting between the Phaleron Bioarchaeological Project (PBP) and the RDFBones/AnthroGraph workgroup on 16 September 2021. The changes we agreed upon in this meeting are implemented in the versions presented here.

The mock-ups are the basis for implementing the palaeopathology module in AnthroGraph.

Main Palaeopathology Page

This page opens once an investigation of palaeopathology on a specimen is started. From here, palaeopathology sections can be initiated by entering a label and save.

The 'Participants' tab still needs to be elaborated, so there is no detailed mock-up for this one, yet. It will take information on who carried out palaeopathology screenings and when. How this will work depends on discussions both within the PBP and the AnthroGraph workgroup.

Add New Observation of Added Bone Page

This page opens once a 'Bone Addition' section is initiated from the main page. It serves as an example for any type of palaeopathology section.

It is possible to associate several anatomical regions of interest, together with their aspect on which an observation is made and the extent to which the region is affected, with the observation. Likewise, multiple interactions of researchers with the dataset can be recorded, specifying the role which people had in the interaction.

Overview of Existing Palaeopathology Section

Once a palaeopathology section is saved, it appears under the relevant section on the page of the area of the skeleton that is under investigation.

The mock-up for the 'Observation of Added Bone' page presented above does not account for the fact that evidence of myositis ossificans (MO), stellate scars (SS), sequestrum (Seq) and involucrum (Inv) might be located on one or several of the anatomical regions of interest (ROIs) that are associated with the dataset section about added bone. For each of these scores, it should be possible to select any number of these ROIs.

I have updated the mock-up accordingly:

PhaleronPatho-Mockups-AddBoneAddition1

As selection of anatomical regions of interest for MO, SS, Seq and Inv require ROIs to be associated with the dataset section, there needs to be a save event establishing these relations. For the mock-up, I have assumed that this event needs to be triggered by the user who needs to hit the save button. To make data entry more intuitive, I have added save buttons to all meaningful sections of the form although only the last would be strictly necessary. Alternatively, the form could have only two save buttons or even just one in case that the save event for the ROI relations could be triggered automatically.

@zarquon42b and @15E601, what do you think?
