What should text boxes refer to? Where should they appear in the Data entry form (cf. issue #16).
@JEB13, @eprevedo, @HannahLiedl, @JessHotaling and @hayesleigh, please discuss and post results here.
Consider if it might make sense for you to distinguish different kinds of comments, e.g. notes on the conditions under which observations or measurements were made, on qualities of the skeletal material affecting outcome and issues of conservation. This might be helpful if you plan to compile a catalogue or report from text blocks stored in the the database.
So far we had notes boxes for every "analysis step" (for a lack of a better word; meaning: inventory, dentition, taphonomy, sex, age, etc.) and one overall general notes box. For me, this has worked quite well and you can look for the specific notes box. I think it makes sense to have notes boxes for pathology per body region, but in my opinion it is not necessary for every category.
I believe we've settle that "Non-metric traits and/or Anomalies" should be in the comments box.
@JEB13, @eprevedo, @HannahLiedl, @JessHotaling and @hayesleigh: We need a decision on how many note boxes there should be for the palaeopathology module. Currently, there is Hannah's suggestion on the table:
If this was to be implemented, there should be a clear concept of which types of comments should go into which box.
For now, we have one comment section on the entire palaeopathology investigation. I believe it might be more useful to have a box for descriptions/comments for each anatomical region for palaeopath like we have it planned for the inventory. This might just be my personal preference, so if anyone has a different suggestion, I'm happy to adjust.
Hi!
That sounds good to me, as well.
