For example, this is a deployment of a dev version of the British Geological Survey's Prez instance. Their data is mostly, if not all in the UK. But on page load, the map is currently positioned on Australia.

A possible solution would be to make prez-ui configurable to provide a default bounding box for the top-level search page.
