  1. Sea surface temp

  1. Sea Surface Temp anomaly (departure from mean, indicates above / below average heat "fuel" for cyclone
  2. Atmospheric pressure at sea level
  3. geopotential height of 500mb pressure surface (indicates potential direction of cyclone movement)
