Requirements:

The attacking team and defending team spawn at exclusively one flag; any other flags on the map are Supply Crates. This gamemode has three options; Limited Reinforcements (like Battalions), Assault, where it is possible to capture the enemies' spawn points, and Defense, where it is not possible to capture the enemies' spawn, and there are no limited reinforcements. The goal of this gamemode is to not lose all of your reinforcements/spawn points/Supply Crates, and destroy all of the enemies' Supply Crates. You may be thinking it would be easy to just jump in a helicopter, bomber, tank or plane and just blow these crates up. That's exactly the problem; maps would have to be rebalanced for this gamemode, adding more anti-air and anti-tank turrets and improving defensive AI. Maps that would have this gamemode available would be balanced for it anyways, assuming the map creator is competent and has updated their map. More on that farther below.

Supply crates would have to become more useful and detailed to have a special gamemode. They would need health, a destruction animation, and possibly loadout switching. It could also have a visual overhaul, looking like more than just a box of bullets.

This gamemode is more advanced than the other currently available gamemodes. It would require special AI, like in the Spec Ops gamemode. Due to the special nature of the Supply Crate being something that both teams must be able to interact with, it cannot replace flags outright. The map must be tailored for this gamemode, and thus, old custom maps will not be compatible, and will have to be updated.

The battle is not over until every last soldier on the enemy team is dead (Assault), or unless all of your Supply Caches are destroyed (Defend/Limited Reinforcements).

It would be interesting to replace the Jeep in this gamemode with a Supply Jeep, where if captured by an enemy team, could be utilized for the friendly teams' victory. It would be quite a feat if the developer got the primitive AI we have currently to hunt these down separately.

Due to the special nature of the Supply Crate being something that both teams must be able to interact with, it cannot replace flags outright. The map must be tailored for this gamemode, and thus, old custom maps will not be compatible, and will have to be updated. This could be detrimental to some, but if more fun and advanced game modes are going to be added, this is just a small compatibility patch for active map makers like myself.

Although I'm sure if this gamemode were to be developed it would take an awful long time before it saw the light of day, I believe it could become a fan favorite, replacing the ol' Point Match on Island, and inspiring players to try more maps.

On a final note, the improvements to Supply Crates do not have to be exclusively for this gamemode. I also think this could spark new opportunity for the developer, such as a Spec Ops version of this gamemode.
