Re integration #7

Would like to integrate into upstream.

Will add in some backwards compatibility remapping.

Obviously @madelinecameron will be added to the contributors and authors list. Because its awesome what she has done.

I will however be adding myself back into the authors list as well... you know... cause I wrote the the thing which she did make better...
