Automatically update VM kernel #34

Let's move this function up to be just in front of the cross_setup(). I have been trying to keep the functions and calls in the same order to make it easier to maintain, so please move the function up also.

Include a "sudo apt-get update" before this install to make sure the user gets the latest kernel version.

Please test v0.6.5rc1 as you setup the cluster VM and indicate if this was successful, then this will be merged to master.
